The Hustler is a film from 1961 starring Paul Newman, Jackie Gleason, and George C Scott. The film centers around a pool shark named Fast Eddie played by Newman and it focuses on his search to make a name for himself. The acting is good by all three of the actors and the story is decent. The film deals mostly with billiards but the problem is that I am not a major fan of pool and it bores me a little. If the film was about any thing but pool I would have loved this film. The story needed a bit of an improvement when it comes to the back stories of some of the characters specifically how Eddie met his business partner and why was Fats so famous. So I give the film 3/5 stars.
