The Rock is a Michael Bay film starring Nicolas Cage and Sean Connery. It is about a group of terrorists who take over Alcatraz and have a very deadly biological weapon on hand. It is a great film Connery as usual is amazing. The story works for me and actually moves along quite smoothly. As in other Bay works there is a large amount of explosions in the film. He does seem to be a little tamer with them throughout the film but still feels the need to tear up a large amount of San Francisco to feed his hunger for destruction. Overall it could have been worse but I give it 4/5 stars for Connery being the main source of killing throughout the film.
