Sixteen Candles is the classic coming of age story for girls. I would technically call it the start of the chick flick era. The film was written by the late John Hughes and stars Molly Ringwald. The film is amusing but it is too much of a chick flick for me to handle especially at points in the beginning and at the end of the film. The main humor comes from the character Long Dunk Dong and the head Geek played by Anthony Michael Hall. Overall the film is to be enjoyed but it just is not one that I would say to guys to go and rent right away but girls you will enjoy this. I give the film 3/5 stars.
