Out of the first four Dirty Harry's Sudden Impact, like the first film, has a depth that requires Harry's intervention. Unlike number one though this film is set up more as a vengeance story then as a typical cop story. Harry as usual is incredibly awesome but it seems that for some reason the murders that keep piling up end up being immediately placed on Harry as the prime suspect. The cinematography in this film is also much better then in parts 2 and 3 of Harry's saga with the lighting used perfectly for the method in which the film is being used. The story is much better in this version and the fact that instead of a simple chase film it ends up being an actual police investigation. Overall the film is not quite as good as the original but much better then the last two films. I give the film 3.5/5 stars.
