#485 - Fail-Safe
Fail-Safe is the dramatic version of the story of Dr. Strangelove . The film stars Henry Fonda and Walter Matthau. The film follows the exact same storyline that Dr. Strangelove follows but at some points it diverts to add to the drama. For instance the ambassador and U.N. representative are only heard by phone and there is much more dramatics then the film it is slightly based off. Oddly though both of the films appeared at the same time and one was a slight parody Dr. Strangelove is probably the much superior film. This film moves too slow in the set-up and when it gets into the action it takes a while till something happens. The acting is well done but Matthau seems to just be added in to be the devil's advocate in the whole scenario. I give the film 3.5/5 stars.
